Global maintains stable growth amid financial upheavals
As the economy continues to struggle, dampening investor sentiment, Global Educational Trust Foundation continues to lay the groundwork for future growth, yielding positive returns of 4.6% before applicable fees for the year ending December 31, 2008.
In a financial report released today, the company announced stable earnings and strong asset growth, giving shareholders and clients peace of mind and confidence in the company's sound financial management and underlying strengths.
Over the last year, total assets of the Global Educational Trust Plan (Global Plan) increased to over $240 million. In the same year, more than 9,600 children enrolled in the Global Plan – a number that is in line with the healthy 11% enrollment rate reported year after year.
Since its inception ten years ago, the Global Plan has provided families with approximately $39 million in funding to help pay for a variety of education-related expenses like books, accommodations and tuition. In 2008 alone, more than $14 million was made available to families.
Last year and early 2009 marked a very turbulent time for the financial markets and proved to be the ultimate test for measuring a strong and well-managed company.
At Global, continued operating efficiencies in every area of the company contributed to its strong financial position during the year. The company continues to take advantage of opportunities in the current market as it adapts its strategies to meet the current and long-term needs of its clients.
“Our financial results and performance give us confidence in the outlook for the coming year and beyond. We are well-placed to build further momentum and sustainable value for the benefit of our stakeholders and our clients in the longer term,” said Sam Bouji , Chairman and CEO of Global Educational Marketing Corporation.
