Global’s annual $20,000 RESP contest
helps family with rising costs of education

Global’s 2007 $20,000 RESP Contest Draw Winner, Trisha Boswell of Regina,
with her husband Rory and 11-month old son, Owen.

“It’s an investment that will impact their children’s future for a lifetime,” says Sam Bouji, Chairman, and CEO of Global Educational Marketing Corporation (Global). “Starting to save early and getting the benefit of the government grants can go a long way to helping with the cost of school for their children. Education certainly isn’t getting any less expensive.”

According to Statistics Canada, many Canadian parents aren’t taking advantage of the Canadian government’s offer of up to $9,200 in grants towards their child’s college or university education.

With the average cost of a four-year university education estimated to be over $100,000
mark by 2025, some parents may find it difficult to put aside the funds required for their child. Global’s annual Global Plan draw worth up to $20,000 can certainly help.

On November 15, 2007 Trisha Boswell from Regina, Saskatchewan was this year’s lucky winner. Her ballot was randomly chosen from over 8000 ballots received across the country.

“The money will help greatly,” Boswell says. “Education is not cheap, especially nowadays. This money will definately help my son get a good education.”

“My husband and I were discussing how many more kids we want to have,” she adds. “The deciding factor is whether or not you can afford the cost of raising them, especially since the cost of education is probably the biggest factor.”

Boswell admits that she has not started an RESP for their 10-month old son, Owen. However, they do recognize the importance of early saving for a child’s education, especially in this day and age.

To celebrate Global’s upcoming 10th anniversary, Global will be having four contest draws, for a chance to win an RESP up to $10,000, giving more people a chance to win. The first contest begins on November 15, 2007. The draws will be April 9, July 9, October 9, and January 7, 2009.
